I’m a Quality Engineer who works mostly on the web.

I’m currently a QA Lead at ao.com, a national white goods and electronics retailer in the UK with a largely C#, React and AWS tech stack.

Day to day I’m…

• Acting as a QA Coach within cross-functional teams, often across multiple teams to help make sure we are getting the best out of everyones knowledge and experience.
• Working on improving CI/CD pipelines by working on automated testing and tooling to get things out quickly and safely to users.
• Mentoring and coaching individual contributors to help build individual contributors skills and independence.
• Collaborating on exploratory testing with developers, designers and end users, getting a wide variety of valuable perspectives on the quality of our output.
• Acting at the department level, setting standards and exploring new tools and ways of working to make sure lessons we learn in one place can be used else where.

Tech-wise I predominantly use JavaScript based tools like Cypress, Playwright, Postman and K6 but have some experience with C# and Python as well.
